Welcome to Visa Bulletin App ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. This App is an independent product and is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State or any government agency.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our services:

• Device Token (APNs): A token provided by Apple Push Notification service to send you notifications about Visa Bulletin updates and, when you enable them, USCIS case status changes.
• Preference Settings: Your notification preferences and visa category selections stored locally on your device.
• USCIS Case Data You Choose to Provide: When you use case tracking, you may enter USCIS receipt numbers. Optional case labels and notes are stored on your device. To deliver case-related notifications and operate the service, receipt numbers and derived status information may be processed on our servers and associated with your device.
• Device Identifier: A randomly generated installation identifier associated with your copy of the App, used to authenticate your device with our backend when using case-related features. It is not Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and is not used for cross-app advertising or device fingerprinting.
• Subscription Verification: If you subscribe through the App Store, we may process subscription or transaction identifiers as needed to verify entitlement for subscription-backed case features.

How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used solely for:

• Sending push notifications when new Visa Bulletin updates are detected
• Fetching and displaying USCIS case status, syncing case subscriptions for notifications, and operating collaborative status checks where applicable
• Verifying in-app subscription entitlement for premium features
• Improving the accuracy and timing of our notification services
• Maintaining and optimizing app performance

Data Storage & Security

Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS). Your device token and case-related data necessary for the service are securely stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with industry-standard practices. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Your preference settings and optional case labels and notes are stored locally on your device; only what is needed for notifications and backend operation (such as receipt numbers you add) is transmitted to our servers.

Data Retention

We retain device tokens, case-related data, and subscription-related metadata only for as long as necessary to provide notification services, case tracking, and subscription-backed features. You may request deletion of your data as described under "Your Rights" below.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Your data is only used internally to provide our services.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Third-Party Services

Our app relies on the following third-party services:

• Apple Push Notification service (APNs): For delivering push notifications to your device
• Apple App Store: For in-app purchases and subscription management
• Amazon Web Services (AWS): For hosting our backend infrastructure
• USCIS: Case status information is obtained through publicly available USCIS case status inquiry interfaces. USCIS may process requests according to its own policies. This App is not affiliated with USCIS.

These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.

Analytics

We do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-app tracking in the App today. We may use privacy-conscious analytics or diagnostics in the future to understand how the App is used and to improve functionality and reliability; if we do, we will update this Privacy Policy and obtain consent where required by law.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
• Request deletion of your device token and associated case subscription data from our servers where technically feasible
• Access information about what data we store related to your device

Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
